Term 2: 10 Weeks

This course is a pre-accredited Learn Local Course that aims to provide you with opportunities in learning for a range of opportunities including education, employment and volunteering.

This course will focus on teaching you basic cooking skills and knowledge regarding food groups, healthy eating, cooking equipment and cooking techniques. Each class will have a theory focus and will incorporate a range of activities to improve Vocational skills while also including ‘hands-on’ preparing and cooking a meal to share with others.

What will I learn:

Participate in healthy activity sessions.

Literacy and numeracy development.

Develop skills to reflect on own learning strategies,

Develop their understanding of food safety standards,

OH&S and Australian workplace culture.

Teamwork

Know how to follow and give instructions.

Make choices

Follow food hygiene guideline

Practice safe working procedures

Course schedule:

Term 2 Class Dates: 15 April 2024 – 24 June 2024 (10weeks)

Time: 10am - 2pm

Duration : 10 weeks (Once a week - Mondays)

Cost: $17 per class

Tution fee $50 and Course materials & amenities fee = $120,

Foods/ meal cost are all included.

So the total fee is $170. So per class fees comes only $17.

This is the concession rate for the NDIS clients.

Funding and Eligibility

Learn Local courses are subsidised through the Department of Education and Training. Participation Branch and eligibility rules apply.

‍*ACFE Funded places can only be offered to learners who are Australian citizens or hold permanent residency. Proof of citizenship eligibility is required upon enrolment.
